Bell, Rogers, and Telus Galaxy S8/S8+ Receiving August Security Updates

There are new updates for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners in Canada. These updates will bump-up the Galaxy S8 (SM-G950W) to version G950WVLS1AQH1, while the Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955W) on the other hand will move to version G955WVLS1AQH1.

In addition to last months updates, of which both Galaxy S8 duo received the new navigation bar option, allowing users to hide the   navigation bar in the screen. While this new update brings the usual monthly Android security patch, that now covers the August security updates.

Currently, the updates are hitting Bell, Telus, Virgin Mobile, Fido and Freedom Mobile, Rogers, and Videotron customers but other carriers such as Virgin Mobile,  Koodo, Sasktel, and Eastlink might also push out the update soon.

If the said update hasn’t been pushed to your S8 or s8+yet, it is much better to check about the said update manually,  by tapping About Device > Check for Software Update.

Samsung launches Galaxy S8 and S8+

Samsung is targeting that both  Galaxy S8 and S8+ plus could sell as many as 53 million this year. The company also expects that the S8 could cover it losses following the Note 7 recall last year, and it could outsell its predecessor Galaxy S7, S7 edge, and S7 edge plus of which sold fewer than 50 million in 2016. The Galaxy S8 and S8 plus sales will begin much earlier compare to the S7 last year. The Galaxy S8 flagships, which will have a global launch on April 28, while it is available in the US a week earlier on April 21.
