Canadian Galaxy S8/S8+ Owners Receiving SMS Issue Fix and October Security Updates

There's an update that are making rounds for Canada's Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners. The update is shipped with the October Security Updates, device stability improvements and bug fixes,  various system enhancements, and further improvements to performance.

In addition to that, the update also includes the patch fixes for the SMS issue. Samsung were recently made aware that some owners of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S+ devices experienced trouble receiving incoming text messages. So those who are have that troubles regarding the SMS messages, this update is especially made for you.

The  Samsung Galaxy S8 (SM-G950W) move to version G950WVLU1AQJ4, while the Galaxy S8 plus also bump to version G955WVLU1AQJ4. Each update only weighs at approximately 66MB in file size.


Reports said that Rogers, Telus, Koodo has gotten the first deployment, and then followed by Bell, Videotron, Freedom, Fido, including the factory unlocked variant, and the rest of all Canadian carriers.

If your phone isn’t updated yet, you can manually download the update. Simply tap on Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.

Samsung launches Galaxy S8 and S8+

Samsung is targeting that both  Galaxy S8 and S8+ plus could sell as many as 53 million this year. The company also expects that the S8 could cover it losses following the Note 7 recall last year, and it could outsell its predecessor Galaxy S7, S7 edge, and S7 edge plus of which sold fewer than 50 million in 2016.
