Bell, Freedom, Telus, Rogers Galaxy S8/S8+ Receiving November Security and Overall Performance Updates

Canada's major service providers has pushed software updates to its Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ models. All Canadian owners of the regular Galaxy S8 should look an update version G950WVLU2AQK7, while for the Galaxy S8 plus owners will also gets the update version G955WVLU2AQK7.

An update weighing at approximately 400 MB in file size is making it rounds all over Canada. As for what’s included, the big addition are the November 2017 Android security patches. Samsung says that there are "Overall device performance has been improved " is also included, but there is no exact technical details of what those improvements might be.

However, those from  Bell, Videotron, Eastlink, and Sasktel network will receive it first while followed by those from Telus, Freedom,  Fido, Koodo, and Virgin-Mobile.

If you’ve got a Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+ and haven’t yet updated, you can either wait for the Firmware Over-The-Air OTA update to arrive in your respective areas, or you can also manually check for it by going to Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.

Samsung launches Galaxy S8 and S8+

Samsung is targeting that both  Galaxy S8 and S8+ plus could sell as many as 53 million this year. The company also expects that the S8 could cover it losses following the Note 7 recall last year, and it could outsell its predecessor Galaxy S7, S7 edge, and S7 edge plus of which sold fewer than 50 million in 2016.
