Rogers, Telus, Canada Unlocked Galaxy S8 and S8+ January Security Updates

For those who owns the Snapdragon Samsung galaxy S8 and S8+ in Canada, there is new update that will rounds this week in your areas.  An update of which were dubbed with baseband version G950WVLS2ARA1 is heading its way for the Galaxy S8 devices. While for the Galaxy S8+ owners you should also look for the new update with baseband version G955WVLS2ARA1.

The update is not the much anticipated Android 8.0.0  Oreo upgrade yet, but still remains in Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The update basically brings the usual monthly Android security patches of which now covers the January 2018 security updates.

In addition, this will be the last Nougat update you folks could seen in Canada., as the upcoming Android 8.0 Oreo update will be arriving in mid-March next month, that's according to Samsung announcement way back in December.  So for a meanwhile just allow to update your devices and sprinkle it with the latest security patches.

The update is recently hitting the factory unlocked version, Rogers, and Telus. Other Canadian network will also follow shortly. Just simply check your device Settings > Software Update, if you haven't received the notification message yet.

Samsung launches Galaxy S8 and S8+

Samsung is targeting that both  Galaxy S8 and S8+ plus could sell as many as 53 million this year. The company also expects that the S8 could cover it losses following the Note 7 recall last year, and it could outsell its predecessor Galaxy S7, S7 edge, and S7 edge plus of which sold fewer than 50 million in 2016.
