T-Mobile Galaxy S8 and S8+ Receiving February Security Patch Updates

T-Mobile has just pushed a new update for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. Even though Samsung already begun rolling out the Oreo updates for the Exynos version of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ in Europe, but this update is not the much awaited Android Oreo. Since the Oreo beta program are still on going in the US until this time, and it hasn't been finalize yet. The latter only brings the February Security Patch for the said devices, and its still in Android Nougat OS base.

T-Mo's Galaxy S8 owners will receive an OTA update with baseband version G950USQS2BRB1. While those who also got a Galaxy S8+ in hand will also get an update with baseband version G955USQS2BRB1. This only a minor OTA update, but it is the last Nougat update you'll receive for your devices.  Not only that, this update also plays as the  pre-requisite so the device is ready and its set for the upcoming Android Oreo upgrade that will arrive on mid-March next month.


So if you owned a Galaxy S8 and or a Galaxy S8+ from T-Mobile, just make sure to navigate the device Settings > Check for software updates anytime from now on.

Samsung launches Galaxy S8 and S8+

Samsung is targeting that both  Galaxy S8 and S8+ plus could sell as many as 53 million this year. The company also expects that the S8 could cover it losses following the Note 7 recall last year, and it could outsell its predecessor Galaxy S7, S7 edge, and S7 edge plus of which sold fewer than 50 million in 2016.
